Company: Solarfoil

About the job

At SolarFoil, we’re building the future of light-converting nanomaterials for agriculture—and a key step in scaling our technology is understanding how it performs over time in real-world environments.

We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on student to help us study and improve the durability and stability of our light-converting films. You’ll contribute to ongoing experiments that explore how our materials behave under exposure to heat, humidity, and sunlight—bringing us closer to real-world deployment.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a BSc or MSc in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related discipline.
  • Some lab experience is required; experience with spectroscopy or analytical measurements is a plus.
  • Basic Python skills or familiarity with plotting/data analysis tools (e.g., Origin, MATLAB, Excel).
  • Fluent English (B2/C1 level)
  • EU citizenship or residence permit (we are unable to sponsor visas).
  • Available for 2–5 days per week on-site in Amsterdam.

You’ll be part of a small, international team working across research, production, and sustainability. We speak English in the lab and love working with curious, independent thinkers.

The candidate

We monitor how material properties evolve under environmental stress. This includes performance and durability measurements using optical tools and analytical techniques, supporting both technical insights and future improvements.
