Revyve, a spin-off from Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and StartLife alumnus, has raised €24 million in Series B funding to accelerate the commercial rollout of functional yeast proteins that replace eggs and additives in mainstream foods. The round brings total funding more than €40 million and positions Revyve to scale global supply.

The round was co-led by ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund and Invest-NL, with regional support from Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij (BOM) and strategic investments from Lallemand Bio-Ingredients’ Danstar Ferment and Grey Silo Ventures (Cereal Docks Group). Existing investors Oost NL and Royal Cosun, both StartLife partners, increased their commitments.

From First-of-a-Kind Facility to Full Commercial Scale

Revyve launched its first-of-a-kind (FOAK) production facility in Dinteloord in 2024. With commercial volumes proven and customer lines live, the new capital will modularly scale production, broaden applications, and serve larger global accounts across Europe, the UK, the US, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.

Revyve answers three industry challenges: volatile egg pricing, scrutiny of ultra-processed foods, and lower CO₂ footprints. Its clean-label ingredients help brands remove additives while keeping texture, binding, and mouthfeel consumers expect.

“Food manufacturers are cutting back on eggs to offset increasing prices and reach sustainability targets, but replicating their unique functionality is crucial to maintaining the texture and mouthfeel consumers are used to. This funding round marks a tipping point for us: allowing us to modularly scale production and branch out to more food categories and serve our sustainable solutions to larger customers worldwide.” said Cedric Verstraeten, CEO of Revyve.

Expanding Production Capabilities in the Netherlands

Built in the Wageningen and Brabant ecosystems, Revyve produces natural, price-competitive yeast proteins that perform like eggs in bakery, sauces, alt meat, and plant-based dairy. The company’s first-of-a-kind plant in Dinteloord is already running at capacity for customers; with this round, output will expand to 1,600+ tons per year.

“Strong regional support from both the Wageningen and Brabant ecosystems has enabled us to scale to industrial levels in record time. With a passionate team and strong investor backing, we have an incredibly solid foundation for global expansion.” ~ Cedric Verstraeten

StartLife’s Early Support

Revyve’s journey with StartLife began in 2019, when they joined our Accelerate program under the name Fumi Ingredients and received StartLife pre-seed funding. This early support laid the foundation for their validation efforts and first industry connections.

Through fast-tracked market discovery, pilots, and investor-readiness support, followed by pre-seed funding to drive execution, StartLife backed Revyve from proof of concept to first production steps. We are proud to have supported them at the foundation of their scaling journey.
