Martin Vilters
Martin Vilters started out with a Bachelor’s in Food Technology at Wageningen University. During his Bachelor he followed the Erasmus exchange program at MATE University in Budapest where he extended his knowledge with additional courses in sensory science and food design.
Following this he continued with the Master’s degree from Wageningen University focused on Food Technology specializing in product design and ingredient functionality. As part of his Master thesis Martin worked on natural adhesives for the food industry as well as developing methods to measure adhesiveness. To finish up his academic career Martin followed an internship at KostStudio in Copenhagen he worked on plant-based meat flavorings as well as venture development.
During his Master Thesis Martin also contributed to the entrepreunerial ecosystem in Wageningen by functioning as community engagement manager of StartHub Wageningen. Here he helped facilitate networking and coaching events and served as a contact point for members, students and start-ups.
Martin’s passion for the food system stems from a passion for gastronomy as well as the human perspective behind it. Together with the StartLife team he hopes to push the food system towards the Future. This enthusiasm together with his technical skillset and international experience make him a great addition as the FoodTech Startup Analyst role at Startlife.
